Cala Ratjada is, like the majority of the localities on the coast, a former fishing village in the north-east of Majorca and it belongs administrative to Capdepera. It is surrounded by a wonderful pines landscape and it has 5 dreamlike beaches. One is the Bay Sa Font de sa Cala at a distance of 2km, then the favourite small beach Son Moll located in the center of the locality and the two bays Cala Agulla (Guya) and Cala Mesquida that extend over hundreds of meters. Today Cala Ratjada is one of the most important centers of tourism in Majorca, however, for all that it maintained its original flair. It is of importance to ensure that the tradition passed on by many generations is sustained, like for example the traditional feasts as well as the most famous artisanry of the municipality Capdepera, the braiding of palms leaves.
The port of Cala Ratjada is the main and one of the most beautiful spots of the locality. Very close there is a big coast promenade with many bars, shops and restaurants. Here in the port you will see the typical fishing boats as well as motor yachts and sports boats. From here you can book sailing trips, but you can also go by glass bottom boat or by speed boat that will take you to the neighbour island Menorca within 75 minutes.
