Information and situation to Porto Cristo
Porto Cristo is a small port locality in the east of the island. The place gained fame surely through the dragon caves – Coves del Drac. The caves are flowstone cave system that extends through the length of 1,7 km. In the caves system there is the biggest underground lake in Europe – and 6 more lakes. Worth seeing for sure. The locality is also attractive – walking through the port is incredibly beautiful. Many restaurants are located here, also the small beach of the locality.
The beach is 300m long and on average 20m wide. Therefore it is not the biggest – but sufficient. The location of the small beach is wonderful – on one side it is protected by rocks on the other side it is surrounded by the marina. Porto Cristo is full of contrasts. There are new apartment buildings located beside the old dominion houses, modern pubs beside the old bars, on the sea there are old wooden Boots floating beside the grand Yachts. Here you can find everything – and everything fits somehow together. Beautiful. People meet on the main square Paca del Carme and talk over the recent news. An adorable place that joins the Majorcan charm with modern spirit.
