Maria de la Salut – only the name awakes in us the aspiration for the South. Maria de la Salut is a little village on the Balearic island Majorca, which is situated in the middle of the hilly land. A village where the garlic grew best on the fields – they say. They don´t know from where the beautiful name – de la Salut – comes, but in any case the name has been added in the year 1916, to hold the many villages with the name -Maria- apart. They say that – de la Salut -, translated – the health – comes from the tastefully and healthy garlic – ma by it is true! The village is capped with an onion dome, which dominates the village. For visitors it will may be oversleep, but it´s not. Behind the walls the Majorcan life is pulsating. And at strolling along through the little streets you can feel the agility and the life.
