Sant Joan is a small locality in the centre of the island between Petra and Sineu. It is a contemplative and idyllic locality – just typical Majorcan! There is a big church there – Sant Joan Baptista that was already built in 13. century. It has a gorgeous interior design and it is definitely worth seeing. The manor “Es Calderers” opened in 1992 its gates – that had been closed to the public until then. Here you can have a look into the world of Majorcan landed gentry and visit the feudal manor. A little bit above the locality there is a Santuari de la Consolacio – here the statue of Madonna is bewared.

It was, according to the legend, found by a boy under a burning thorn book. If you have a look at Sant Joan from above you can recognize the typical shapes and colours of the locality – grainfields, fruit trees and gardens. Wonderful!
